About The Position

A Truck Installation Technician II at Reading Truck works under the direction of the Shop Supervisor to install specialty truck equipment, including service utility bodies, stake bodies, dump bodies, hitches, and other commercial truck accessories. The role includes following safety rules and PPE requirements, installing truck bodies and accessories, and training with other mechanics as needed. Other duties may be assigned by a Supervisor or Manager.

Reading Truck describes itself as having more than 65 years of industry leadership in the manufacture, distribution, and enhancement of work truck bodies, with a network of more than 20 locations across North America. Qualified technicians hired at levels II–IV are eligible for a $2,250 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of welding skills with metal and aluminum.
• At least 2 years of electrical wiring experience.
• Ability to build schematics.
• Ability to troubleshoot independently.
• Ability to operate power hand tools and have basic tools.

Nice To Haves

• Basic welding experience is helpful.
• Knowledge of and experience with complex hydraulics.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules and comply with all PPE requirements.
• Install truck bodies, plows, and commercial truck accessories.
• Mount hitches, shelves, drawers, ladder racks, mud flaps, and similar equipment.
• Train with other mechanics as needed.
• Perform other duties assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
