Truck Driver - Class B Hazmat - Penske Logistics
About The Position
Penske Logistics is hiring a full-time Class B delivery truck driver to deliver automobile parts to retail stores and unload palletized freight using a pallet jack. The role uses late-model Penske Truck Leasing trucks designed for comfort and safety, with inward- and outward-facing in-cab cameras. Drivers represent Penske and its clients while providing safe, timely deliveries and customer service. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a 10:00 PM start time and weekends off. The position requires a Hazmat endorsement, which may be obtained within 30 days of hire. The job is transportation-regulated or designated safety-sensitive and requires alert, safe work practices. Drivers must meet stated attendance and scheduling requirements and complete the application, background investigation, and drug screening. Drivers are paid every Friday; most driving positions are home daily.
Requirements
- Valid Class B CDL with an airbrake endorsement.
- Hazmat endorsement required; ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
- Currently hold, or be able to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card.
- At least 1 year of documented relevant commercial vehicle driving experience within the last 5 years.
- Three years of DMV/MVR history with no more than two moving violations or accidents.
- Must be domiciled in the United States and licensed in the state of residence.
- English language proficiency as required under 49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2).
- Must complete a Penske employment application, background investigation (including past employment, education, and criminal history), and drug screening.
- Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely perform the job’s driving and cargo-area access duties.
- Ability to see and hear, including close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Ability to move frequently, stand, walk, sit, use hands to touch, handle, and feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Deliver automobile parts to retail stores.
- Unload palletized freight using a pallet jack.
- Follow applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
- Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance and work the required schedule at the specified location.
- Operate safely and remain alert, accepting responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others.
- Safely and frequently enter and exit the truck and its rear cargo area.
- Provide customer service and represent Penske and its clients professionally.
