Truck Driver - CDL Class A Floater - Penske Logistics
About The Position
Penske Logistics is hiring a full-time Class A CDL truck driver for local floater assignments. The driver works at various dedicated accounts and shifts as needed, makes multi-stop deliveries of parts and supplies to automotive dealerships, unloads trailers, and scans products as they are unloaded and delivered. The position is local and home daily, with dispatch times varying by assignment. Drivers operate late-model, Penske-maintained trucks with comfort and safety features, including inward- and outward-facing in-cab cameras. The role represents Penske and its clients, with a focus on safe, timely deliveries, customer service, and building relationships with accounts. The position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated safety-sensitive, and requires maintaining alertness and operating safely. Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL; applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence.
- Currently hold, or be able to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card.
- At least 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years.
- A 3-year DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents.
- English language proficiency as required by federal law.
- Ability to work the required schedule and at the specified location, complete the Penske employment application, and pass a background investigation and drug screening.
- Ability to remain alert and work safely in a DOT-regulated or safety-sensitive role.
- Ability to see and hear, including close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Ability to move frequently, stand, walk, sit, use hands, and reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently as required and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter and exit the vehicle and rear cargo area.
Responsibilities
- Work at various dedicated accounts and shifts locally as needed.
- Perform multi-stop deliveries of parts and supplies to automotive dealerships.
- Unload trailers using manual pallet jacks, hand trucks, and rolling cages.
- Scan products as they are unloaded and delivered.
- Operate a truck safely and deliver products on time.
- Represent Penske and its clients and build relationships with accounts.
- Accept responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others.
