Truck Driver - Class A Floater - Penske Logistics
About The Position
Penske Logistics is hiring full-time Class A CDL truck drivers for a home-daily floater role. Drivers cover routes and assignments as needed, making multi-stop deliveries of parts and supplies to automotive dealerships. They unload trailers using manual pallet jacks, hand trucks, and rolling cages, and scan products as they are unloaded and delivered. Dispatch times vary according to the work assignment. Drivers operate late-model, Penske-maintained trucks with comfort and safety features, including inward- and outward-facing in-cab cameras. The role represents both Penske and its clients and requires safe, timely deliveries and customer service. The position is DOT-regulated or designated safety-sensitive, requiring associates to remain alert and work safely. The advertised compensation averages $100,000 annually, with performance incentives of up to $10,400 annually and a $10,000 sign-on bonus.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL; applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence.
- Currently hold or be able to obtain a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card.
- At least 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years.
- Three-year DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents.
- English language proficiency as required by federal law.
- Ability to work the required schedule and at the specified location, complete the Penske employment application, undergo a background investigation, and pass drug screening.
- Ability to accept responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others.
- Ability to see and hear, with close, distance, peripheral and depth vision and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to move frequently, stand, walk, sit, use hands to touch, handle and feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter and exit the vehicle and rear cargo area.
