About The Position

Quantem Aviation Services is a premier aircraft handling provider offering cargo warehousing, mail handling, ramp handling, terminal services, and GSE fuel supply and maintenance services. Our Truck Driver position will be a key part of our USPS mail operations team in BWI. The person hired for this position will transport containerized USPS mail from the BWI airport to our off-property sorting facility and then back to the airport. We currently have Part-Time positions only. The hours are 2am-6am, and 2:30am-6:30-am.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent;
Clean driver’s abstract;
Must possess CDL Class A License
Successful completion of the SIDA airport badging or background check process is required for this location.
Minimum two years’ commercial driving experience;
Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform minor vehicle maintenance;
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;
Ability to read and interpret written communication and reports;
Sitting while driving for long periods of time in possible inclement weather;
Ability to use hands and arms to install, position, move and manipulate items;
Ability to climb, balance, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl and handle materials;
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds;
A valid driver’s license is required for this position.

Responsibilities

Operate and navigate company-owned or leased vehicles in excess of four tons including tractor/trailer/tanker, forklift and mechanized equipment;
Document, record, and track all required log sheets IAW, FMCSA, DOT and Quantem Aviation Services, Inc requirements;
Knowledge of local major and minor roadways and the ability to effectively use maps and direction for efficient travel routing;
Identify, troubleshoot and service devices, parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical principles;
Service truck with fuel, oil and other fluids and perform preventative maintenance to tractor-trailer;
