About The Position

Walmart is hiring a regional truck driver based at its London, Kentucky facility. Drivers can earn up to $110,000 in their first year and receive weekly home time with consecutive days off each week. The role involves operating a tractor-trailer safely and delivering freight on optimized routes. Freight is no-touch. Drivers plan their day, prioritize work, coordinate with their team, communicate clearly, solve problems, and adapt to changing road or route conditions. They complete paperwork and electronic logs accurately, follow Department of Transportation, state, and company guidelines, inspect their vehicle before, during, and after trips, and comply with traffic laws and local restrictions. Drivers are expected to uphold Walmart’s standards for safety, integrity, and professionalism. Compensation includes mileage pay of $0.55–$0.69 per mile, with the number of miles driven varying by location and actual driving. Certain activities are paid at both the mileage rate and an activity rate; other activities receive activity pay only. Average Daily Pay is $240 per day in specified circumstances. Regional drivers may earn up to $110,000 in their first year, though actual pay may vary. Drivers must live within 250 miles of the assigned facility or establish residence within that distance within 90 days of hire.

Requirements

Interstate Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a Hazmat endorsement and cleared background check, or the ability to obtain the endorsement and clear the background check within 120 calendar days of hire.
At least 30 months of full-time Class A tractor-trailer driving experience within the previous three years, or successful completion of the Walmart Fleet Development Academy Program.
No more than two moving violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the past three years.
No serious traffic violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the past three years.
No preventable collision while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the past three years.
No preventable DOT-recordable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the past ten years.
No preventable accident resulting in a fatality or catastrophic injury in personal or commercial driving history.
Currently reside within 250 miles of the assigned facility or be willing to establish a residence within 250 miles within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Plan daily work, set priorities, and coordinate with the team to move freight safely and on time.
Communicate clearly, solve problems, and adapt to changes on the road or in the plan.
Complete required paperwork and electronic logs accurately.
Follow DOT, state, and company guidelines.
Safely operate a tractor-trailer and inspect it before, during, and after each trip.
Follow optimized routes, traffic laws, and local restrictions to reduce delays and support on-time deliveries.
Maintain Walmart’s standards for safety, integrity, and professionalism.
