About The Position

Walmart is hiring a Regional Class A CDL Truck Driver for its private fleet, based at the Mebane, North Carolina facility. The role transports freight on optimized regional routes and offers weekly home time, consecutive days off each week, and no-touch freight deliveries. Drivers are paid per mile and for certain activities; mileage and activity rates may vary by location and actual miles driven. The listed mileage rate is $0.55–$0.69 per mile, and Average Day’s Pay is $240 per day in eligible circumstances. The driver is expected to uphold Walmart’s standards for safety, integrity, and professionalism; plan daily work and coordinate with the team; communicate clearly and adapt to road or schedule changes; complete paperwork and electronic logs accurately; and comply with DOT, state, and company requirements. The driver safely operates and inspects the tractor-trailer before, during, and after each trip, and follows traffic laws and local restrictions to support safe, timely deliveries. Applicants must hold an Interstate Class A CDL with a Hazmat endorsement and cleared background check, or obtain the endorsement and clearance within 120 calendar days of hire. Applicants must meet the stated driving experience and driving-record criteria, or qualify through successful completion of the Walmart Fleet Development Academy Program where applicable. They must live within 250 miles of the assigned facility or establish a residence within that radius within 90 days of hire. Requirements

Hold an Interstate Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a Hazmat endorsement and cleared background check, or obtain the endorsement and cleared background check within 120 calendar days of hire.
Have at least 30 months of full-time Class A tractor-trailer driving experience within the previous three years, or successfully complete the Walmart Fleet Development Academy Program.
Have no more than two moving violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
Have no serious traffic violations while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
Have no preventable collision while operating a personal or commercial motor vehicle in the last three years.
Have no preventable DOT-recordable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last ten years.
Have no preventable accident resulting in a fatality or catastrophic injury in personal or commercial driving history.
Currently live within 250 miles of the assigned facility or be willing to establish a residence within 250 miles within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Uphold Walmart’s standards for safety, integrity, and professionalism.
Plan daily work, set priorities, and coordinate with the team to move freight safely and on time.
Communicate clearly, solve problems, and adapt to changes on the road or in the plan.
Complete required paperwork and electronic logs accurately, and follow DOT, state, and company guidelines.
Safely operate the tractor-trailer and inspect it before, during, and after each trip.
Follow optimized routes, traffic laws, and local restrictions to reduce delays and improve on-time delivery performance.
