About The Position

Freshpet is seeking two Truck Drivers for their night shift operations. The role involves operating a commercial company vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight over 26,000 lbs. to transport goods and packages. The driver will ensure contents are secured, obtain necessary signatures or scans for deliveries, and confirm shipment contents match the manifest. This position requires adherence to a predetermined route, timely transport, and performing vehicle inspections. The driver will also maintain driving and delivery logs, track working hours, and comply with all company rules, traffic laws, and DOT regulations, prioritizing safety at all times. This team member will move product within approximately a 100-mile radius of Ennis, Texas. The position has a fixed rotational schedule but requires flexibility due to the startup of the Ennis fleet.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED equivalent required
Valid Commercial driver’s license (CDL “A”) required
2+ years proven experience in commercial truck driving preferred
Self-starter who works well independently
Clean driving record with no moving violations
Skilled and confident driver
Comfortable maneuvering tractor into loading and unloading positions
Alert, focused and detailed oriented
Ability to lift to 50 lbs. at a time
An innate sense of direction
Disciplined, dependable, and resourceful
Strong verbal communicator
Eligible to work in the United States

Responsibilities

Operate and safely drive an assigned commercial company vehicle with a Gross Vehicle Weight over 26,000 lbs.
Transport pallet of goods and packages from place of origin to assigned destination.
Ensure contents are properly secured inside of truck to prevent breakage or damage.
Obtain signatures or warehouse scans to confirm and complete deliveries with clients.
Confirm contents of each shipment load matches the manifest document.
Stay on predetermined route and ensure timely transport and delivery.
Perform inspections of your company vehicle prior to and at the end of your shift.
Ensure your vehicle is kept clean.
Notify Transportation Supervisor/Manager of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered.
Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs.
Track and report working hours.
Adhere to company rules and regulations.
Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in accordance with weather/road conditions.
Make safety a priority always.
Comply with DOT regulations.
