About The Position
Ryder is hiring a NON CDL Truck Driver in Florence, SC — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. Deliver SOLO To: Within 150 miles of Florence. Route: Local Home Daily. Tractor Type: Straight Truck. Trailer Type: 26' Straight Truck. Freight: Touch - US Mail. Trucks are 36 months or newer, include 24/7 Roadside Maintenance and Company Drivers fuel up the trucks at over 800 Maintenance Facilities Nationwide. Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
- Pass a Ryder Drug Test
- Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
- Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
- Pass a DOT physical
- Pass a Ryder road test
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
- Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
- A secondary background screen - Federal Level 2 conducted by the USPS to allow access to premises and/or to provide contractual services
- Selective Service registration for males born after December 31, 1959, unless there is a legal exemption

Responsibilities
- Safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
- Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
- Maintaining accurate records
- Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
- Other tasks as assigned
