About The Position

Ryder is hiring a NON CDL Truck Driver in Florence, SC — offering weekly pay, excellent benefits, and a driving career you can feel good about. This position offers a competitive hourly wage plus a Health & Welfare Stipend, with consistent weekly pay. The schedule is Monday - Saturday, with a start time of 5:00 AM, and a split shift does apply. Drivers will deliver SOLO within 150 miles of Florence, operating a 26' Straight Truck to deliver US Mail freight. Trucks are 36 months or newer and include 24/7 Roadside Maintenance. Ryder provides comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision insurance after 30 days, 80 hours of PTO in the first year, and a uniform, cell phone, and boot allowance. Drivers are empowered to make safety decisions with job protection. A 401(k) with company match is available, and 12 weeks of paid maternity leave is offered (subject to eligibility). Requirements

  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Minimum of 6 months of verifiable driving experience
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test
  • Must have verifiable driving experience (must be in like equipment if position being applied for is operating a straight truck or box truck): 6 Months experience in the past 3 years, OR 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
  • Pass a Ryder Background and Motor vehicle check including Drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
  • Pass a DOT physical
  • Pass a Ryder road test
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
  • Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures
  • A secondary background screen - Federal Level 2 conducted by the USPS to allow access to premises and/or to provide contractual services
  • Selective Service registration for males born after December 31, 1959, unless there is a legal exemption

Responsibilities

  • Safely driving a vehicle within and requires compliance with safety regulations, continuous training and customer service.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
  • Maintaining accurate records
  • Loading/Unloading freight or assisting in the loading/unloading of freight if required by customer
  • Other tasks as assigned
