About The Position

Responsible for transporting and delivering materials from company headquarters to other designated locations in accordance with DOT regulations. This role also involves assisting with a variety of duties in the Shipping & Receiving Department, including packing and inspecting parts, staging pallets, and maintaining department cleanliness and organization. The position requires proper loading and securing of materials, verifying paperwork, and performing daily vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance.

Requirements

Experience effectively operating a large vehicle on large highways and traffic routes.
Chauffeur's License Required
Strong knowledge of DOT regulations.
Ability to operate forklift (will train the right candidate).
Effective communication skills (written and oral).
Ability to multitask and work in a production environment.
Team player – must be willing to perform departmental assistance duties in addition to deliveries.

Responsibilities

Transporting and delivering materials from company headquarters to other designated locations in accordance with DOT regulations.
Properly loading and securing materials to prevent movement and allow for safe transport.
Assisting in loading and unloading of materials.
Maintaining accurate records of materials loaded and unloaded.
Performing vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance before, during, and after trips.
Ensuring working condition of brakes, lights, wipers, windshield, fire extinguisher, and flares.
Checking fuel and oil levels daily, and cleaning the vehicle interior/exterior regularly.
Operating vehicle in all types of weather conditions.
Maintaining an accurate log of activities, vehicle condition, and any accidents.
Promptly reporting any delays due to breakdowns, weather, traffic conditions, or other emergencies.
Turning in all records of deliveries, receipts, payments, mechanical problems, etc.
Assisting in general shipping and receiving operations.
Assisting with packaging and sorting parts as needed.
Assisting with departmental organization and cleaning as needed.
