About The Position

Operates a combination tractor trailer vehicle that transports cargo to and from specific destinations maintaining and following all Federal DOT and Company regulations for Woods Equipment Company as part of Oregon Tool’s Farm Ranch and Ag division. This role is located in Oregon, Illinois and reports to the Fleet Supervisor. The primary duties involve operating a tractor trailer combination vehicle or straight truck that transports cargo locally, adhering to all Federal DOT and Company regulations. The role also includes preparing and receiving appropriate documentation for deliveries/pickups, loading, securing, and unloading cargo using equipment like an internal crane system, forklift, or lift gate. Maintaining email and telephone contact with the dispatcher for instructions and updates is crucial. The driver will maintain hours of service logs and cargo according to Federal DOT and state regulations, running local products to and from areas near the Oregon, IL manufacturing plant. The position also involves working on the Shipping dock, driving the yard tractor, and assisting at the Distribution Center, requiring the ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment. Additionally, the role requires maintaining good customer service relationships with internal and external customers and acting professionally at all times while representing the company. Open communication through conversations and both formal and informal documents is expected.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Must possess a valid class “A” CDL.
  • Must have at least 200,000 miles and 2+ years’ driving experience in all seasons.
  • Must have a satisfactory CSA score driving record and be able to pass DOT physical and drug screens.
  • Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional, and quality manner.
  • Solve problems analytically; search out relevant information and gauge its importance when making decisions.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms.
  • Set a good example of personal integrity.
  • Available to work as required by job.

Responsibilities

  • Operates a tractor trailer combination vehicle or straight truck that transports cargo locally.
  • Follows all Federal DOT and Company regulations.
  • Prepares, receives and provides appropriate documentation for the delivery or pick up of goods to ensure timely service.
  • Loads, secures, and unloads cargo using internal crane system, forklift, or lift gate when required.
  • Maintains email and telephone contact with dispatcher to receive delivery or pick up instructions or to receive notice of changes in scheduled delivery or pick up.
  • Maintains hours of service logs and cargo according to Federal DOT and state regulations.
  • Runs local products to and from areas near the Oregon, IL manufacturing plant.
  • Position includes working on the Shipping dock, driving the yard tractor, and assisting at the Distribution Center.
  • Must be able to operate forklifts and other types of material handling equipment.
  • Maintains good customer service relationships with internal and external customers. Must act professional at all times while representing the company.
