On Call - Truck Driver Light - Plow Operator
About The Position
Challenge Unlimited, Inc. is seeking an on-call Truck Driver Light / Plow Operator at SAFB in Mascoutah, Illinois. The role performs snow and ice removal at the assigned site, using equipment such as a snow blower or shovel, and distributes de-icing materials safely. The employee also operates, cleans, and performs minor preventative maintenance on equipment, including checking and filling fluids, greasing, and cleaning filters. The position supports integrated teams and helps people with different abilities work with support and development as needed. Reporting to the Project Manager or Supervisor, the employee contributes to teamwork by communicating needs, assisting and training coworkers, following assigned schedules and tasks, and implementing feedback. Work emphasizes safety, quality, customer service, and maintaining the site without damaging the landscape or property. This is an on-call role for snow removal, seven days a week, including holidays. Hours vary and may occur at any time of day or night depending on snow-removal needs. The stated hourly rate is $22.67. Veterans are welcome.
Requirements
- Must be available on call for snow removal seven days a week, including holidays.
- Must be able to work at varying times, potentially during the day or night, depending on snow-removal needs.
- Ability to perform snow removal using a shovel or snow blower.
- Ability to safely distribute de-icing materials.
- Ability to operate, clean, and perform minor preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds of de-icing chemicals or equipment.
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, twist, and use hands while performing snow-maintenance duties.
- Ability to remain visually alert to monitor safety and complete snow-removal duties.
- Ability to communicate with managers, clients, and employees and to assist coworkers.

Responsibilities
- Perform snow-removal activities at the assigned site using a shovel or snow blower.
- Maintain a clean and safe job site and avoid damaging landscaping or property during snow removal.
- Perform ice-control activities and safely distribute de-icing solutions such as salt or ice melt.
- Operate, clean, and perform minor preventative maintenance on equipment, including greasing, checking and filling fluids, and cleaning filters.
- Maintain quality-control standards by completing work thoroughly and promptly correcting deficiencies and customer complaints.
- Perform work according to the contract’s statement of work and company policies and procedures, with emphasis on safety, quality, and customer service.
- Follow schedules and task assignments as directed.
- Help communicate job expectations to new hires or others needing assistance, and assist with training and helping coworkers.
- Communicate needs to the supervisor and implement feedback for improvement.
- Help build an effective company culture that reflects company values and supports performance and goals.
