The City of Fishers is hiring temporary drivers to support snow removal during City winter weather events. This seasonal, on-call position is called to duty only when needed for winter weather. Drivers will typically plow subdivisions and parking lots using City-provided equipment; personal vehicles will not be used. When substantial snowfall or ice is expected, additional staff may be placed on call with as much advance notice as possible. Once committed to on-call status, drivers are expected to be rested and ready to work a full shift if called. Shifts are 12 hours and typically run either 9 p.m.–9 a.m. or 9 a.m.–9 p.m. Shift start times are fixed, while end times may be flexible based on availability. Applicants unable to work a full 12-hour shift are invited to apply and share their availability. Paid training sessions are scheduled for November 21 and December 12; only one session is required. Training includes a classroom presentation, video, and ride-along as needed. Compensation is $20 per hour when called in for snow event support.
