About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL solo truck driver in Chino, California. The position delivers freight in California, with occasional team routes, and is home daily. Routes may use sleeper trucks, day cabs, or 26-foot straight trucks and may involve dry van, reefer, or flatbed trailers. Freight handling varies and may involve touch freight. Ryder trains drivers on the equipment needed for the role. Drivers operate trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Pay is $30 per hour for 45–50 hours per week, with weekly pay of $1,425 or more and $50 per night in per diem pay. Ryder-booked hotel accommodations are provided for overnight routes. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with occasional weekends, and start times between 3:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage after 30 days, PTO accrual starting on Day 1, a uniform, cell phone and boot allowance, access to a 401(k) rollover and company match after one year, paid maternity leave subject to eligibility criteria, and employee discounts. A Hazmat endorsement is required at the time of interview.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide an appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position; a Hazmat endorsement is required at the time of interview.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading when required by the customer.
Perform other duties as assigned.
