About The Position

The Truck Driver – Construction Crew is a safety-sensitive position exercising a high degree of discretion, trust, and confidence operating County vehicles in the heavy equipment classification, including hauling material and equipment to maintain County roads. This position requires initiative, ability, and willingness to work a majority of the time without direct supervision. Persons in this position use independent discretion and judgment within established organization policies and procedures.

Requirements

High School Diploma
Generally a high school diploma or equivalent and one year of responsible roadway maintenance experience
Valid State of Colorado Class A driver’s license with tanker endorsement and with acceptable motor vehicle record
Must receive an acceptable background check
This is a safety-sensitive position that may be subject to random drug testing.

Responsibilities

Operates various types of CDL vehicles
Performs snow removal operations
Collects debris along county roads
Makes continuous judgments on safety, capacity of equipment, and plowing precautions
Reports for off-duty work for emergency operations for public health, safety, and welfare
Performs minor maintenance of equipment to include daily inspections
Moving equipment
Asphalt pothole patching, crack-sealing and ‘brooming’
Cattle guard install, cleaning and repair
Culvert install, cleaning and repair
Fence install or repair
Flagging/traffic control
Sign install or repair
Wash, clean, grease and service equipment
Help in shop, run parts
All aspects of snow removal
Set up and tear down snow equipment
Ditch mowing, weed spraying, seeding, erosion control and cleaning
Tree removal and trimming
