About The Position

Immediate Opportunities: Full-time Class A CDL Truck Drivers. This is a flex position requiring travel, including out-of-state assignments. A Hazmat endorsement is required within 90 days of hire. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with dispatch times varying by assignment, generally between 8:30 PM and 7:30 AM. Drivers must be flexible and able to travel to out-of-state centers to assist. Drivers will report to their assigned location and work from there for the duration of the work assignment, working approximately 50 hours per week. You will drive late model, Penske maintained trucks with best-in-class specs designed for comfort and safety, equipped with inward and outward-facing in-cab cameras. The trucks are day cabs with 53' trailers and lift gates, or straight trucks with lift gates.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A CDL required. Applicants must be domiciled in the U.S. and licensed in their state of residence
  • Currently hold, or ability to obtain, a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card required
  • 1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years required, or 2 years of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 5 years
  • 3 years DMV/MVR record with two or fewer moving violations or accidents
  • Follow all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
  • Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function of the job
  • English language proficiency is required
  • Must be able to work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening
  • This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required
  • Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others

Responsibilities

  • Deliver auto parts and supplies to retail stores
  • Travel regionally and to out-of-state distribution centers as needed
  • Perform multi-stop deliveries and transfers
  • Handle touch freight using electric/manual pallet jacks, hand carts, and totes
  • Unload trailers using lift gates and material-handling equipment
  • Use a scanner to scan products as they are unloaded and delivered
  • Complete drop & hook operations as assigned
