About The Position

Ryder is hiring a local Class A CDL truck driver in Clarksville, Tennessee. The route is home daily, delivering auto parts without freight touch to Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Mississippi. Drivers operate a day cab with a 53-foot dry van and must have strong backing skills. The schedule is Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday, with an AM or PM start time assigned through a bid system. Ryder provides well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Drivers are expected to make safety decisions and comply with applicable laws, regulations, rules, standards, and guidelines. Drivers on this account earn $1,280 or more per week and are paid weekly. Compensation incentives include a $1,000 sign-on bonus at 30 days and another $1,000 at 90 days, a $2,000 shutdown bonus within the first year, and a quarterly safety bonus of $250 if applicable. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Have strong backing skills.
Be open to an AM or PM start time based on the bid system.

Responsibilities

Comply with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load or unload freight, or assist with loading or unloading if required by the customer.
Perform other duties as assigned.
