About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Clarksville, Tennessee. The role delivers auto-parts freight solo to Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Mississippi on local routes, with drivers home daily. Freight is no-touch, using a day-cab tractor and a 53-foot dry-van trailer. Strong backing skills are required. Drivers must be open to an AM or PM start time based on the bid system and work either Monday through Friday or Tuesday through Saturday. Drivers earn $1,280 or more per week and are paid weekly. Incentives include a $1,000 sign-on payment at 30 days and another $1,000 at 90 days, a $2,000 shutdown bonus within the first year, and a quarterly safety bonus of $250 if applicable. Ryder provides company-paid scale bypass, trucks that are 36 months old or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and access to company fueling at more than 800 maintenance facilities nationwide. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass Ryder background and motor-vehicle checks, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Be open to AM or PM start times based on the bid system.
Have strong backing skills.

Responsibilities

Comply with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
