About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver based in Rialto, California. This is a local, home-daily driving position delivering solo to locations as far south as Santa Maria, the Los Angeles area, and Palm Springs. Drivers handle no-touch office-products freight using a day-cab tractor and a 53-foot dry van. The role pays $26.00 per hour for 40 hours per week, with weekly pay and paid training. The schedule is Sunday through Thursday, with dispatch starting between 8:00 PM and 1:00 AM.

Drivers operate well-maintained, safe trucks that are 36 months old or newer. Ryder provides 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Drivers make safety decisions on the road, and the job is protected. Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Hold a Class A CDL and have verifiable tractor-trailer or comparable-vehicle experience meeting one of these thresholds: 9 months within the past 3 years, 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
• Have the Hazmat endorsement at the time of interview.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load or unload freight, or assist with loading or unloading if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
