About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver in Hickman, Kentucky, for a regional solo-driving position delivering to Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Kansas, and Iowa. The schedule is Monday through Friday or Sunday through Thursday, with weekends off. Drivers operate a sleeper tractor pulling a flatbed trailer and transport building mesh; freight securement is required. Trucks are described as well-maintained, safe, and 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

The position pays weekly, with average pay of $1,626 or more per week and top earners averaging more than $1,850. Pay includes $0.69 per solo mile, $28.75 per solo stop, and $40 per night in per diem. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is paid in two installments: $1,500 at 30 days and $1,500 at 90 days. Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
