About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver in Greenville, Texas. This is a local, home-daily solo driving position delivering freight in Texas and Oklahoma. Drivers operate a day-cab tractor and a 48-foot flatbed trailer, transporting electrical supplies. The freight is touch freight and requires strapping. A forklift is listed as equipment, and Ryder provides training on equipment needed for the job. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with a start time between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. Paid training is provided. Drivers receive weekly pay, with stated earnings of $1,300–$1,500 per week, solo mileage pay of $0.48 per mile, and solo stop pay of $60 per stop.

Ryder states that its drivers operate well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including verification of drug and alcohol history from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
