About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL solo truck driver in Mount Airy, North Carolina, for a regional route delivering to the East Coast and as far west as Texas. The position uses a sleeper tractor and flatbed trailer, carrying building mesh freight with load securement only. Drivers operate well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including verification of drug and alcohol information from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Some positions may require additional screening, such as employment and education verification, motor vehicle records checks, a road test, or customer badging or background requirements.
