About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Parkersburg, West Virginia. This solo driving role delivers freight across 48 states using sleeper tractors with APUs and dry van and Conestoga trailers. The freight consists of commercial and residential garage doors, requires strapping for load securement, and involves touch freight with hand unloading. A passport endorsement is required within 90 days of hire; Conestoga and dry van experience is preferred. Drivers may bring a person and/or pet on the road. Ryder states that its trucks are well-maintained, safe, and 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Pay is weekly, with solo mileage pay of $0.70 per mile for 2,000–2,500 miles per week and stop pay of $30.01 per stop for 8–10 stops per week. The posting advertises earnings of $1,950 or more per week, a quarterly safety bonus of $250, sign-on bonuses of $1,500 at 30 days and $1,500 at 90 days, and paid training. Drivers are expected to comply with applicable laws and regulations, identify and reduce safety hazards, maintain accurate records and logs, and load or unload freight or assist with those activities when required by the customer. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including verification of drug and alcohol information from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable tractor-trailer or comparable-vehicle experience meeting one of these alternatives: 9 months within the past 3 years, 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Obtain a passport within 90 days of hire.
