About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL solo regional truck driver based in Mt. Sterling, Ohio. The driver delivers to Florida and locations throughout the Eastern United States and may be away from home up to 85% of the time. Equipment includes a mixture of sleeper tractors with 53-foot trailers and 26-foot straight trucks; Ryder provides training on the equipment needed. Freight is HVAC and involves touch freight/driver assistance. Drivers use a manual pallet jack and lift gate. Trucks are described as well-maintained and safe, 36 months or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting around 6:00 a.m., with 40 or more hours per week. Pay is $25.50 per hour, overtime is paid after 40 hours, and the position offers a $1,340 weekly guarantee and $50 per night in per diem. Route overnights use hotels booked by Ryder. Paid training is provided. A $1,000 loyalty bonus is paid at six months and another $1,000 at one year. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test, background check, motor vehicle check, and DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position; a Class A CDL is required.
Have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle, meeting one of these thresholds: 9 months within the past 3 years, 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Have 1 year of dry van experience.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Undergo any additional screening required for some positions, which may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records checks, road tests, or customer badging or background requirements.

Responsibilities
