About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver for a consistent regional lane delivering solo to Indiana and Kentucky. The role is based in Indianapolis, Indiana, with a rotating schedule and a 7:00 PM dispatch window. Drivers operate 2023 International sleeper tractors and 53-foot dry van trailers carrying lightweight clothing freight that requires touch handling. The position offers solo mileage pay of $0.65 per mile, $25 per stop, per diem for each night out, paid training, a $2,500 sign-on bonus, and average weekly earnings of $2,200 or more, with annual earnings of $100,000 or more. Drivers are empowered to make safety decisions, and the job is protected when they do so. Ryder describes the role as a company driving position with support during the transition and throughout a driver's career.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have verifiable Class A experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

Comply with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading when required by the customer.
Perform other duties as assigned.
