About The Position

Ryder is hiring an on-call Class A floater CDL truck driver in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin. The role pays $29.00 per hour, with weekly pay and hours that vary based on coverage needs. The schedule is Monday through Friday on call, with a Tuesday 12 PM on-call time and a 6:00 AM start time. Paid training is provided.

The driver delivers solo on local routes and is home daily. Equipment includes a day-cab tractor and a 53-foot dry van. Freight handling involves touch freight, a pallet jack, and a lift gate, with cable equipment and white-glove service. Drivers operate well-maintained, safe trucks that are 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and access to fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Pass a Ryder drug test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
• Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
• Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
• Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards.
• Maintain accurate records and logs.
• Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading freight if required by the customer.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
