About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Richmond, California. This is a solo regional OTR driving role delivering to 11 western states. Routes may involve overnight stays in a Ryder-booked hotel or sleeper, with paid travel and a $30 per-night per diem. Drivers may operate a day cab or sleeper tractor, or a straight truck, and pull dry van, reefer, or flatbed trailers in 28-, 48-, or 53-foot sizes. Freight may involve a combination of touch and no-touch work. Equipment includes an electric pallet jack. Ryder trucks are described as well-maintained, safe, and 36 months old or newer, with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fueling available at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. The schedule is Monday through Friday and requires flexibility. Drivers work 40 or more hours per week, with overtime paid after 40 hours. Hourly pay is $30, and the posting says drivers on this account earn $2,100 or more weekly; top 10% of drivers at this location make more than $120,000 per year. Paid weekly. A tenure bonus pays $1,000 for each qualifying year of service, and sign-on bonuses total $2,500, paid in installments at 30 and 90 days. Paid training is provided. Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
Be able to accept automatic restrictions.

Nice To Haves

Flatbed experience of 6–9 months is preferred.
Doubles experience of 3 months is preferred.

Responsibilities

Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading when required by the customer.
