About The Position

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL truck driver in St. Louis, Missouri, to deliver solo on regional routes throughout the Midwest and Southwest. The position pays $30 per hour for 40 or more hours per week, with weekly pay, $30 per night in per diem, and overnight stays at Ryder-booked hotels. Drivers may earn $2,000 or more per week; the top 10% of drivers earn more than $100,000 annually. Compensation also includes a $1,000 anniversary bonus each year and a $2,500 sign-on bonus paid in two installments: $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with flexibility required. Routes use day cabs, sleepers, and occasional straight trucks. Trailer types include flatbed, dry van, reefer, Conestoga, curtainside, and container. Freight may require touch or no-touch service. Load-securement experience, including strapping, tarping, and chaining, is required. Equipment may include a pallet jack, rollers, lift gate, and Moffett. Ryder provides well-maintained trucks that are 36 months old or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, and fueling at more than 800 nationwide maintenance locations. Drivers make safety decisions on the road, with their jobs protected when doing so. The company describes its environment as supportive of drivers and their career growth.

Requirements

Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide the appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor-trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the past 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Have load-securement experience, including strapping, tarping, and chaining.
Be able to follow written and/or oral instructions.
Be able to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.

Responsibilities

Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect, eliminate, or minimize safety hazards.
Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load and unload freight, or assist with loading and unloading when required by the customer.
Perform other duties as assigned.
