About The Position

The Truck Driver and Material Handler will be primarily responsible for the safe operation of a fork truck in a warehouse / manufacturing facility and operating a 20’ straight flatbed truck for local pickups and delivery. When not driving fork trucks or the flatbed truck, the operator will be preparing product for final finishing in the Paint area. As part of the manufacturing team, an operator will follow blueprints and work instructions to build unique, high-quality security products to meet customer requirements.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder
  • Knowledge of strapping and rigging for the use of overhead cranes and trucks on the road
  • The proper use of power and hand tools
  • Ability to read and interpret product prints
  • Ability to understand dimensions in both Metric and Imperial and convert between them
  • Understand tolerancing, inspection procedures, and proper use of calibrated quality tooling
  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety protocols and regulations
  • Ability to stand / walk / work on concrete for 10 hours per day
  • Good physical stamina (lifting heavy equipment) and ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to operate machinery in a safe and controlled manner
  • Ownership of safety
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to learn new skills
  • Work within a team environment

  • Willing to obtain a current DOT physical card
  • Willing to obtain a fork truck operator card

Responsibilities

  • Must have or be willing to obtain a current DOT physical card

  • Ability to strap down and secure loads
  • Safe operation of a 20’ flatbed truck
  • Completion of shipping documents using a company computer system
  • Safe operation of hand and power tools to assist in the production process
  • Follow production schedules
  • Ready parts for final or next operations
  • Use of lifting devices to position product for processing and to move in and out of the work area
  • Maintain a clean and organized workplace and perform daily cleaning and preventive maintenance duties as needed
  • Develop Continuous Improvement of process
  • Inspect products for defects to ensure quality standards are met
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Inspect sub-components and assembled products for any defects or non-compliance to prints. Document as required per the Quality System
  • Visually inspect all products for defects per specifications
  • Ensure that Safety Protocols are followed while in the facility
  • Report all Safety concerns to supervision immediately
  • Provide input, collaborate with Harden Team members, and implement process improvements to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost
