This is a Day-Shift Troubleshooter position with a 3-2-2-3 rotating schedule, working 12-hour shifts from 6 AM to 6 PM. Troubleshooters generally work as a single-man crew, identifying and isolating faulty primary and secondary equipment, operating switching devices, and working with Field Electricians on overhead and underground systems. Responsibilities include clearing faulty and unsafe conditions, maintaining and restoring electrical service, connecting/disconnecting/operating portable transformers, generators, and temporary primary jumpers for emergency restoration. They also work with the Substation group to connect mobile substations, replace failed transformers, repair/re-energize primary lines, perform street light installation and repair, install/remove protective covers, conduct overhead and underground inspections, and perform substation security inspections. The role involves making current and voltage measurements, directing the work of other Lineworkers during emergencies, and applying standards and safe operating practices. The position requires familiarity with line crew work, mechanical aptitude, a thorough knowledge of the electric transmission and distribution system, and analytical, alert, and resourceful skills. The ability to climb, work outdoors in all weather conditions, perform physically demanding work, and respond to storm emergencies is essential. This is a union-represented position, requiring membership in the union upon hire.
