About The Position

Music & Arts is seeking an educator and skilled musician to teach private trombone lessons and inspire students. The teacher creates an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment for students of varying ages and skill levels, and helps them grow through musical instruction. Music & Arts handles administrative work so instructors can focus on teaching. The position is listed at $12.00 per hour for non-teaching work and $10–$20 per hour for teaching, depending on background and experience; actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, location, and other factors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or Music Performance, or equivalent experience.
• Two years of music teaching experience, especially on trombone.

Nice To Haves

• Further teaching experience with low brass or related instruments.
• Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctoral) in Music.
• Professional teaching memberships or certifications.
• Eight or more years of teaching experience, especially with multiple instruments, including banjo, baritone, bass clarinet, bass guitar, bassoon, cello, clarinet, flute, French horn, guitar, mandolin, oboe, percussion, piano, piccolo, saxophone, string bass, trombone, trumpet, tuba, ukulele, viola, violin, and voice.

Responsibilities

• Teach music lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels.
• Build positive relationships with students and parents through regular communication, goal-setting, and progress updates.
• Partner with store teams to schedule lessons and encourage student retention.
• Share musical expertise to inspire students and foster their growth.
• Create an engaging, supportive, and safe learning environment.
