About The Position

This position is responsible for coordinating office and communication activities along with providing clerical assistance to the Director of TRiO Talent Search. This is a part-time, hourly position for 10.5 months per year, approximately 18-25 hours per week, totaling 1000 annual hours. The schedule is flexible and distribution of hours will be based on institutional needs. This position is 100% grant funded through August 31, 2031.

Requirements

  • Associate degree required.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant work experience required.
  • Demonstrated skills in Microsoft and other office software.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to compose and prepare written correspondence.
  • Ability to work with confidential information.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to interact with others in a kind and courteous manner.
  • Ability to follow directions, work with minimal supervision, and complete work in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • All grant staff must be sympathetic and sensitive to the needs of program participants and recognize that the program exists for their sake.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Director in accomplishing goals of the TRiO Talent Search grant objectives.
  • Assist with federal reporting and funding requirements.
  • Handle correspondence and communication without assistance such as; typing letters, preparing bulk mail and draft edits in finished reports.
  • Prepare outgoing mail and maintain records of annual mailings.
  • Greet visitors at the office and handle incoming and outgoing telephone calls.
  • Maintain office supplies.
  • Order ACT and SAT fee waivers, and other publications used by office staff.
  • Keep accurate records on program participants using grant specific software.
  • Maintain program records for the required length of time as determined by the Department of Education.
  • Assist with keeping a current list of office equipment for grant records.
  • Provide assistance to the Director in organizing events ranging from small one-day workshops or trips to large events that encompass multiple days.
  • Write, design, create and publish information including brochures to the website for viewing by targeted demographic, while following ACC’s marketing and graphic design specifications.
  • Manage, implement and support strategies to enhance web-based communications and marketing efforts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
