About The Position

SSS Classic at PCCC is seeking a qualified Professional Tutor to support students in Writing, including Reading and Grammar/Punctuation. This is a part-time, hourly position ideal for candidates with a bachelor's degree looking to positively impact students' academic journeys. The Tutor/Mentor will actively support students' academic and personal growth, provide subject-specific content to enhance understanding and confidence, uphold program policies, and reinforce classroom material.

Requirements

• Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in a related field
• A or B+ in the relevant subject
• 3.25 GPA or higher
• Must be able to work with staff and advise / teach / tutor students from diverse backgrounds; must be sensitive to student needs
• Demonstrate professionalism, creativity, enthusiasm and encourage student success

Nice To Haves

• Tutoring experience is preferred
• Flexibility and genuine commitment to supporting first-generation, under-resourced, college-bound students

Responsibilities

• Provide subject-specific content to help students grasp and understand key concepts to build academic confidence.
• Uphold program policies and procedures at all times.
• Follow the guidance of the Assistant Director to assist in carrying out the program’s policies and procedures.
• Reinforce material students covered in the classroom.
