TRIO Student Support Services English and Writing Tutor
About The Position
The TRIO Student Support Services English and Writing Tutor at the University of Arkansas Pulaski Technical College will provide academic support to students in English composition I and II, and Literature. This role involves offering personalized attention to students in areas such as writing, grammar, proper citation, and utilizing references for general writing skills. The tutor will also assist students with time management, goal setting, learning styles, Blackboard, and Library resources. Additionally, the tutor will help conduct class pre- and post-assessments, maintain the cleanliness of the tutor lab according to CDC guidelines, document student progress, and maintain attendance records. The position requires contacting the supervisor in advance when unable to work and performing other duties as requested.
Requirements
- Demonstrate the ability to use basic computer programs that are applicable in a college setting.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelors degree in education, math or related field-Masters preferred
- Two or more years teaching on the college level-preferred
- Experience developing curriculum-preferred
Responsibilities

- Assist in topics using time management, goalsetting, learning styles, blackboard, Library resources.
- Assist and conduct class pre- and post- assessments.
- Help maintain cleanliness of the tutor lab to meet CDC Guidelines before and after class.
- Document students individual progress maintain student attendance records.
- Contact supervisor in advance when unable to come in for work.
- Perform other Duties as requested.
