About The Position

The Trio Eoc Site Coord-Cs position provides in-person services to program participants, including information about college and careers, assistance with college admissions, financial aid, and scholarships, and referrals to college readiness programs and community agencies. The role also involves managing the day-to-day operations of a satellite office, including coordination with the host institution, responding to inquiries, scheduling appointments, and supervising student employees. Key responsibilities include performing client intakes, determining eligibility, assessing service needs, developing participant service plans, maintaining participant records in a database and hard-copy files, completing monthly audits, and facilitating the Annual Performance Report (APR). The position also requires planning and implementing community outreach, tracking participant progress, and attending professional development. Additionally, the role may involve providing services via Zoom or phone for participants unable to access the site physically.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Willing and able to travel as necessary to complete position duties
  • Knowledge of college admissions & financial aid processes
  • Knowledge of barriers encountered by first-generation and low-income students
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Customer service experience

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Behavior/Social Science, Education, Student Services or related discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and empathy with low-income and first-generation students and their parents
  • Familiarity with area community agencies and high schools
  • Ability to speak Spanish
  • Ability to utilize Zoom and other on-line communication platforms
  • Two years’ experience working directly with college admissions or financial aid
  • Knowledge and experience with veterans educational benefits issues
  • Experience marketing services to low-income individuals

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-person services to program participants including: providing information about college, and careers; assistance in applying for college admissions, student financial aid, and scholarships; referrals to college readiness and GED programs and community agencies; other assistance as necessary to facilitate college enrollment and funding
  • Manage day-to-day operations of satellite office. This includes coordination with the host institution, responding to inquiries, scheduling appointments and supervising any student employees.
  • Perform client intakes, determine eligibility, select participants, assess services needed to achieve educational goals, and develop participant service plan.
  • Enter information about participants and services provided into database and maintain hard-copy files for all participants, ensuring participant records are complete and in order.
  • Complete monthly error checks and file audits.
  • Facilitate completion of the Annual Performance Report (APR).
  • Plan and implement community outreach in assigned service area. This includes individual and group meetings, representing the program at events, and conducting workshops for potential participants, parents and staff members of community organizations, secondary and postsecondary institutions.
  • Track participant progress in completing critical tasks identified in the participant service plan, including enrollment of participants in postsecondary education.
  • Attend professional development conferences and training.
  • Provide zoom or phone services to participants unable to physically access site/campus for services.
  • Other duties as assigned.
