The Trimmer I uses hand tools and handheld power tools to cut and trim manufactured composite parts. This is an entry/junior-level, semi-skilled production role involving machine or equipment operation. The position requires little or no prior experience and typically involves a few months of on-the-job training. The employee has little or no autonomy and works under close supervision, developing competency over time. The Trimmer trims and deburrs fabricated components using pneumatic power tools, signs off on completed work, and reports production discrepancies and schedule concerns to the supervisor. The role also requires proper care and maintenance of equipment and supplies and promotion of workplace safety. The position is generally performed indoors in production areas, which may not be temperature-controlled. Employees may encounter loud or distracting noise, hazardous equipment, and contaminants, and work in shared spaces. The role involves handling objects weighing up to 50 pounds, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and standing or walking for 8 to 12 or more hours per day, depending on role, shift, and overtime. Appropriate personal protective equipment is provided and must be worn on the production floor.
