About The Position

ATI is hiring a Trimmer Die Assembler at its Cudahy, Wisconsin facility, approximately five miles south of Milwaukee. The role is an integral part of the team and involves operating machines and using machining tools to grind and polish dies and trimmers used for forgings that need repair. The successful candidate is safety-focused, precise, quality-oriented, and collaborative, and will learn ATI, its products, customers, and procedures to help ensure products meet quality and customer specifications.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least 1 year of machine and/or precision grinding experience.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Passing score on an Aptitude/Accuplacer test.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Analytical skills and ability to use hand tools.
• Organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Mechanical aptitude.

Nice To Haves

• Experience operating forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Knowledge of die, cleaning, and polishing operations.

Responsibilities

• Grind impressions and polish or blend welded or machined surfaces to the required contour.
• Perform grinding and polishing according to die room standards.
• Repair dies and trimmers by benching machined surfaces, peening cracked impressions, blending, and polishing them into serviceable condition.
• Use gauges, templates, and measuring instruments.
• Set tooling up to print.
• Safely operate gantry and overhead cranes.
