About The Position

Wolf Tree, Inc., a Davey company, is seeking a utility tree trimmer to join its utility line clearance team. The role is based outdoors and involves safely and skillfully performing tree pruning and removal services for major electric utility providers. The Trimmer works as an active crew member alongside ground crew and a foreperson, maintaining and operating tools and equipment used for the work. Travel expectations are up to 25%.

Requirements

Love of the outdoors.
Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
Valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

Commercial Driver’s License—Class A or B with Airbrake Endorsement.
Line clearance experience or other related tree work.
Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.
ISA Certified Arborist®, ISA Certified Tree Worker®, and/or TCIA Certified Tree Care Safety Professional®.

Responsibilities

Climb trees using DdRT/MRS and SRT/SRS climbing systems.
Safely and skillfully perform tree pruning and removal services for major electric utility providers.
Prune treetops and repair damaged trees through trimming or removal.
Remove broken limbs from utility lines, roofs, and other objects.
Apply tree identification knowledge and industry pruning guidelines.
Maintain, prepare, and operate tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
Work as an active crew member with the supporting ground crew and foreperson.
