Trim Tech I (Cannabis Cultivation)
About The Position
NETA is seeking a hardworking, dependable, and team-oriented Trim Technician I to join its Harvest Department in Franklin, Massachusetts. The role supports cannabis cultivation and post-harvest processing by trimming harvested plants and helping ensure products meet quality and consistency standards. The position involves hands-on, repetitive work in a fast-paced team environment and offers experience in large-scale commercial cannabis cultivation. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The pay rate is $15–$19.13 per hour, depending on experience. The role works in a cultivation and production environment with varying temperatures, heat, humidity, and exposure to plant materials and related substances.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid government-issued photo identification.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently when required.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team setting.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly without assistance.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, and reach throughout the workday.
- Comfort working in varying environmental conditions, including heat, humidity, and cooler temperatures.
- Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Ability to climb ladders and work safely around cultivation equipment.
- Comfort working around plant materials, pollen, dust, odors, fertilizers, and varying indoor climate conditions.
Nice To Haves
- Six months or more of cannabis, agricultural, greenhouse, horticulture, nursery, or cultivation experience.
- Previous experience working in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Passion for plant science and commercial cultivation.
Responsibilities
- Wet trim approximately 15–25 harvested cannabis plants daily.
- Assist with dry trimming, de-sticking, bucking, and post-harvest processing.
- Follow NETA policies and procedures and Massachusetts cannabis regulations.
- Meet daily and weekly production goals established by department leadership.
- Inspect plant material to maintain quality and consistency standards.
- Work collaboratively with a team of 8–16 Trim Technicians.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work environment.
- Clean and sanitize tools and equipment.
- Complete assigned tasks accurately, efficiently, and with attention to detail.
- Support additional Harvest Department needs as assigned.
