About The Position

Adelphi is seeking Trilingual Sign Language Interpreters fluent in English, Spanish, and American Sign Language (ASL) to provide in-person interpretation services in school settings in Kissimmee, Florida. Providers will facilitate communication among deaf and hard-of-hearing students, Spanish-speaking families, and school personnel during meetings and other assigned activities. Assignments are scheduled on weekdays, with evening, weekend, and emergency assignments as needed. Compensation is $48 per hour.

Requirements

• Fluent and effective communication in English, Spanish, and ASL.
• Hold a current accepted interpreting credential, such as EIPA 3.5 or higher, RID national certification, NIC, NAD Level 3, CI, CT, CSC, or CDI.
• Ability to follow staff directions, perform assigned duties, and maintain required credentials and ongoing training.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate interpretation in English, Spanish, and ASL during parent/teacher meetings and other assigned school activities.
• Facilitate effective communication among students, families, and school personnel.
• Coordinate assignments with school staff and follow approved schedules and directions.
• Arrive on time; promptly report delays and coordinate absences or early departures with Adelphi.
• Maintain student confidentiality, professional attire, required identification, and compliance with school safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
