About The Position

All Native Group, a division of Ho Chunk Incorporated, is seeking a Tribal Service Liaison to support the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) with management of the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) program. This program furthers the Department's mission by responding to the need to assist state and local law enforcement, medical examiners and coroners, allied professionals, and the general public with resolving missing (MP), unidentified (UP), and unclaimed person cases (UCP). Candidates will be part of a team that manages the day-to-day operations of NamUs; supports ongoing NamUs programs and initiatives; continues national outreach efforts; provides and manages free forensic services (DNA, dental, fingerprint, Forensic Genetic Genealogy (FGG), and anthropology); provides technical assistance to state and local users and evaluates the impact of NamUs to aid medicolegal and other investigative efforts. This vacancy is for proposed work, and any offer of employment would be contingent upon award.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in business administration, office management, communication, or other related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • Candidates must be U.S. citizens.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with tribal communities and/or tribal law enforcement experience is highly desirable.
  • Candidates must undergo a successful Moderate Risk or T2 background investigation. No less than an MBI (Moderate Risk Background Investigation).
  • Candidates must comply with all DOJ IT Rules of Behavior, confidentiality practices, and any third-party non-disclosure agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates all tribal activities for NamUs, including coordination with tribal leaders and members, including through attending specific tribal events, to improve use of NamUs by tribes and tribal law enforcement.
  • Works to reduce cultural barriers to use of the program and overcome them.
