About The Position

This is a part-time Triage position, working Monday and Tuesday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on-site. The role involves managing patient flow, recording vital signs, confirming medication changes, and preparing patients for examination rooms according to doctor preferences. Accuracy and adherence to HIPAA regulations are crucial.

Responsibilities

• Know the difference between work-in appointments and regular appointments; go in appointment order for each doctor; pull back patients when the doctor has an opening or the doctor asks for that specific patient
• Call patient by first name only; confirm last name with the patient once behind the double doors (to comply with HIPAA)
• Change status of appointment on scheduler to “Triage”
• Start Encounter from the patient’s appointment on the scheduler; Copy & Append most recent follow up note and click save
• Complete and record patient’s vitals in the note under Vitals tab (height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, oxygen, and temperature); if blood pressure is critically high or low, please note that on patient’s paperwork so the doctor will be aware of it; doctor may request you to retake the patient’s blood pressure after some time
• Confirm and record any medication changes
• After vitals are complete and medications are confirmed, place patient in the appropriate examination room if one is available; please communicate with the doctors on their preferences on how they like their patients to be roomed
