About The Position

The Triage Nurse Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing the triage nursing team to ensure timely, accurate, and compassionate patient assessment and care coordination in a remote setting. This position is responsible for managing daily operations, providing clinical guidance, and supporting nurses in delivering high-quality telephonic and virtual triage services. The supervisor will collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to optimize patient flow and resource allocation while maintaining compliance with clinical protocols and regulatory standards. By fostering a supportive and educational environment, the supervisor ensures continuous professional development and adherence to best practices among the triage nursing staff. Ultimately, this role aims to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction by leading a skilled team that effectively prioritizes and addresses patient needs remotely across the United States.

Requirements

  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States. (qualification may be satisfied by an experienced LPN with a minimum of 5 years experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 2 years in triage or telehealth nursing.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a nursing or healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical triage protocols, patient assessment, and telehealth technologies.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and remote communication tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or higher.
  • Certification in Telephone or Telehealth Nursing (e.g., CTN or CPHQ).
  • Experience working in a remote or virtual healthcare environment.
  • Familiarity with quality improvement methodologies and regulatory compliance standards such as HIPAA.
  • Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution, team building, and change management.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support a team of triage nurses, ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines and quality standards in remote patient assessments.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide coaching, and facilitate ongoing training to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
  • Manage scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation to maintain efficient and effective triage operations.
  • Serve as a clinical escalation point for complex cases, providing expert guidance and decision support to nursing staff.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, case managers, and administrative teams to coordinate patient care and improve service delivery.
  • Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements, documentation standards, and organizational policies.
  • Analyze operational data and patient feedback to identify opportunities for process improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead team meetings and communicate updates regarding clinical protocols, organizational changes, and performance goals.
