About The Position

Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized bar; preparing and serving drinks; and updating the wine list and inventory. This is a part-time, year-round position with a shift from Monday - Sunday, 4 PM - 11 PM (approximately). The role requires availability on weekends and holidays.

Requirements

One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have or obtain a current food handlers permit within 30 days of employment.
Must have or obtain a current alcohol service permit within 30 days of employment.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Must be 21 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

Set up and stock the bar at the beginning and end of each shift and keep bar clean and organized at all times.
Buff glasses.
Knowledge and compliance of Utah liquor laws.
Learn all drinks and obtain a good knowledge of wines.
Prepare all drinks/wine for the guests.
Serve as needed.
Update lead bartender of any items that have been 86'd.
End of the month inventory.
Update wine list with current vintages.
Wine service when needed.
Run food when needed.
Run evening bar report for reconciliation.
Be available for wine and liquor deliveries.

Support and participate in environmental programs associated with position, for example: minimize waste, recycle, conserve energy, purchase and use sustainable products, educate co-workers/guests on environmental ethic, support vendors with similar environmental ethic, decrease pollution levels, minimize the use of toxic chemicals, restore wild life habitats.
