About The Position

Arbor Masters is seeking a Tree Climber to participate in all aspects of tree work, including pruning and removals. The role involves operating and maintaining heavy, hand, and power equipment; performing felling and rigging; preparing job sites and equipment; supporting safe work practices; assessing trees and job sites; communicating with crew members and homeowners; and assisting with cleanup. Arbor Masters describes itself as a third-generation, family-owned tree service and plant care business and offers training and opportunities for career growth.

Requirements

• Be a team player with a positive attitude.
• Hold a valid driver’s license and possess a Class C driver’s license.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have 2–3 years of rope-and-saddle climbing experience, including knowledge of knots used in roping and technical rigging.
• Have basic knowledge of proper tree pruning and removal techniques.
• Be able to work effectively at heights above 10 feet.
• Be able to perform labor-intensive outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions.
• Be able to navigate uneven terrain; stand, walk, bend, crouch, and reach; and regularly lift more than 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• CDL Class A or Class B license with air-brake endorsement.
• Experience operating bucket or claw trucks.
• Cabling and bracing skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy, hand, and power equipment, including bucket trucks, brush trucks, claw trucks, chippers, pole saws, pruning saws, pole pruners, power pole saws, and chainsaws.
• Repair, sharpen, and maintain equipment and tools.
• Perform basic felling and rigging, including aerial rigging over obstacles.
• Ensure tools, supplies, and materials are loaded onto the truck, maintained, and accounted for; inspect and prepare equipment with fuel and fluids.
• Conduct job briefings and assist the Crew Leader with work-zone setup and use of safety PPE.
• Complete tree risk and job-site assessments; communicate with homeowners about Arbor Masters services; and perform pre- and post-job walk-throughs.
• Communicate verbally and visually with all crew members.
• Assist with debris cleanup when the job is complete.
