About The Position

As a Tree Climber in Training on the General Tree Care Team, you will help preserve and enhance clients’ landscapes. This outdoor, physically active role involves climbing and pruning trees using safe and efficient techniques. You will work with a crew to provide tree care services while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, teamwork, and client service. The role requires climbing trees, working at heights, and regularly lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.

Requirements

• Have a valid U.S. driver’s license and a clean DMV record.
• Be authorized to work lawfully in the U.S.
• Be willing to learn tree climbing without spurs, proper pruning techniques, identifying native and introduced tree and shrub species and understanding their characteristics, tree care safety standards, and chainsaw and equipment operation.
• Be willing to work outdoors in a physically active role.
• Be able to climb trees, work at heights, and regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a crew to provide tree care, including pruning, removals, and cable bracing.
• Safely operate climbing gear, chainsaws, and other equipment.
• Apply proper pruning techniques and tree care practices.
• Follow safety procedures at all times.
• Provide excellent client service while maintaining professional standards.
