About The Position

This position is responsible for overseeing and managing the operation and maintenance of a wastewater treatment plant. The role involves planning maintenance, supervising Treatment Plant Operators, and inspecting and testing equipment and water as required. The Superintendent will also maintain required documentation and operate and manage a wastewater treatment plant and water system in accordance with regulations set by the Commonwealth of Virginia and Federal Agencies.

Requirements

Class 2 Wastewater License required.
Extensive training and experience in wastewater or water treatment plant operation as evidenced by the level of licensure.
Experience in preparing and maintaining operating budgets.
Experience in the supervision of employees, preparing work schedules.
Demonstrated ability to independently carry out the required duties without direct supervision.

Nice To Haves

High School diploma or equivalent.
Trades experience with a background in electrical or plumbing.
Prior experience in supervision.
Familiar with Virginia Department of Corrections, VADOC policies and procedures.
