About The Position

As the Assistant WWTP Superintendent, you’ll be responsible for overseeing operations of the facility to meet all regulatory requirements, inventory and maintain operating stocks of process chemicals and operating supplies, develop and maintain information for reports and records and work to ensure all safety training and programs are implemented. Additionally, you’ll maintain effective communication among staff, evaluate the work of assigned personnel, and provide staff training in areas of treatment operations, equipment maintenance and proper operation of plant equipment.

Requirements

  • An Associate degree or higher education in a related field
  • Colorado Class A Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator’s Certificate, or possess an equivalent certification from another state with the ability to obtain a Colorado operator’s certificate through reciprocity within twelve (12) months of appointment
  • Six (6) years of successful and progressively responsible experience in a large (greater than 4 MGD) wastewater treatment plant or advanced treatment facility.
  • A valid driver’s license at the time of application, and a valid Colorado driver’s license within 30 days of employment
  • License restrictions that may hinder your ability to drive on City business, such as an interlock, will be cause for disqualification
  • During the course of employment, a valid license must be maintained, and the employee must notify the City immediately upon changes to the status of their license

  • A minimum of two years in a supervisory capacity is preferred.
