About The Position
We are seeking a career professional to join our team as a Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator in Kansas City, MO. The selected candidate will become a part of a dynamic and team driven construction company. We are one of the nation’s largest contractors specializing in gas extraction, leachate collection, and operations and maintenance services for landfills.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED, with vocational or technical training being highly advantageous
- Class D waste water plant license for the state of MO
- Mechanical aptitude
- Reading comprehension
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Baseline knowledge of algebra and chemistry
- Clean driving record (for company car eligibility)
Responsibilities
- Operate, adjust, and monitor valves, pumps, motors, digesters, and filtration equipment.
- Collect wastewater samples from influent and effluent flows and perform chemical and biological tests for pH, chlorine residual, suspended solids, and B.O.D.
- Document gauge and meter readings and maintain logs of daily flows, chemical usage, and test results.
- Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on pumps, piping, and chemical feeders. Clean filters, sludge beds, and tanks.
- Follow stringent environmental and safety regulations to ensure the plant meets local, state, and federal standards.
- Address plant alarms, power outages, and equipment malfunctions.
